Case Study: Harman Equipment FinanceWe proudly developed and operate Harman Equipment Finance on behalf of Harman International, known for their first class brands including: JBL, Martin Professional, Studer, Soundcraft, Crown, AKG, Harman Kardon and AMX. Harman International is a $4 Billion company worldwide. We provide comprehensive equipment financing services to Harman customers, both in the United States and Internationally. After many years of serving Martin Professional, which was acquired by Harman in 2012, Harman came to Quail in mid November 2013 to develop and implement a comprehensive financing program for their customers, ready to launch in January at NAMM, a major trade show for them. Quail accepted the challenge and developed Harman Equipment Finance, established the best funding capabilities in the industry and smoothly launched the program on time.

Case Study: NEC Display SolutionsNEC Display had a complicated financial need to finance their digital movie projectors to theaters throughout the United States. The challenge was that most movie theaters did not financially qualify for the amount of financing needed, which was typically $60,000.00 per screen. Further, the major movie studios were forcing the theaters to convert to digital, as they were not going to distribute movies on film any longer after December 2013; in fact, many stopped film distribution prior to that. Thus, the theaters were facing extinction unless they converted to digital. To offset the cost of the conversions, the major studios agreed to reimburse the cost of the new equipment through a very complex formula and structure utilizing an intermediary as their agent. There was more than one intermediary that the theater needed to align itself with, and the agreement between each intermediary and each studio was negotiated separately and differently.
As you might imagine, most lenders ran away from this scenario without the desire and/or ability to understand the complex structure. Upon our introduction to NEC Display, Quail was able to quickly understand the entire structure and provide the necessary funding. As a result, NEC was able to sell millions more in equipment than they otherwise would have.
